SLTC helps students
dramatically improve their command of foreign language
at all proficiency levels. This is achieved through
incorporating specific tools into student communication
with native speakers.
Our communicative tactics
help students to:
- take control of
communication
- overcome the fear
of making grammatical mistakes while speaking to a
foreigner
- avoid translation
from native speech to foreign speech
- express difficult
ideas with language available to the speaker
SLTC also helps teachers
to use communicative tactics as a principle of teaching
speaking and listening. The transformation of these
tactics into a set of teaching guidelines means:
- lesson planning and
syllabus design are based on these tactics
- unique exercises
are used corresponding to these tactics with the teaching
process consisting exclusively of the application
of these exercises
- all selections of
grammar material, vocabulary, and reference materials
are determined by the nature of these exercises
- all activities concentrate
on the development of high CF (communicative focus),
i.e., the automaticity of language based on communication
