SLTC provides training programs for students and teachers:
Programs for students
1.Miracle refresher (MR)
This program seeks to effectively repackage students'
existing knowledge of the language. Students are tested
both at the start and conclusion of the program. STLC
guarantees an increase of at least one proficiency
level grade in both speaking and reading scores. The
program may last from 12 to 30 hours.
2. Survival course (SC)
Aimed at novices, this program provides skills necessary
for survival in a foreign language environment. The
program includes learning to read city signs, use
public transportation, eat in restaurants, purchase
food, order tickets, and reserve hotel rooms. In 30
- 40 hours this program arms the student with monologues
and comprehension tools to ensure communication at
a basic level.
3. Intensive language course
(ILC)
This program raises the students existing proficiency
level while stressing the effective utilization of
materials mastered through communicative techniques.
The program is designed both for beginners and advanced
students. The minimum amount of hours for this program
is 60 depending on student's time availability.
4. Seminars "How to improve
your foreign language immediately"
The essence of the seminar is to teach foreign language
student to present his/her language in the most effective
and impressive way. The seminar can last from one
day to two weeks. The seminar is designed both for
individuals and for large groups. The audience for
this seminar may include students of the same foreign
language or of different foreign languages.
5. Seminar "Discover your
learning style"
This seminar helps students to identify their learning
style and thorough increase the effectiveness of their
learning. It also provides advice which exercises
are most appropriate for specific styles. The seminar
ranges from 6 to 18 hours.
6. Seminar "Successful
interview"
This seminar teaches students to use their foreign
language successfully in an interview environment.
The program has special value for professionals from
different fields and can have a significant impact
on their professional career. The length of a seminar
is tailored to student needs.
Programs for teachers
1. Seminar "High Quality
Teaching Performance"
SLTC conducts training seminars and consultations
on the main principles of high quality teaching performance
for teachers of all languages. The focus of the seminar
is on the quality of the language exercise as the
main element of teaching foreign students. The amount
of hours of this seminar varies.
2. SMTC (The Shekhtman Method
of Teaching Communication) Seminar
This seminar is based on using communicative tactics
as a principle of teaching speaking and listening.
The seminar shows a system of communicative exercises
and provides other training devices. The seminar implies
the active participation of listeners. Two types of
seminar are provided: an 18-hour seminar and a 54-hour
seminar.
3. Seminar "Intercultural
Element in Foreign Language Programs"
This seminar considers the differences in mentality
between a native speaker and foreign student. It shows
the importance of this difference in communication
between them and also the influence of intercultural
issues on language itself. The seminar needs 6 months
advance order. Participants need to schedule this
seminar 6 months in advance.
4. Seminar "How to Identify
the Learning Style of Your Students"
This seminar is based on research on identification
of student ability to absorb languages. It considers
a wide rage of types of students learning styles and
provides an effective mechanism for adapting language
exercises to individual learning styles. The seminar
consists of several workshops that last a total of
18 hours.

1. E-consulting
SLTC provides e-consulting regarding all the aspects
and issues of the above mentioned seminars and programs
for students and teachers. The price of consulting depends
on the amount of time necessary for our specialists
to answer your questions.
2. Curriculum and Instructional
Design
SLTC provides curriculum
and instructional design for Advanced Language Courses. This 80-hour course focuses on generic principles of instructional design for the high-level-proficiency classroom and the application of these principles in the classroom and in homework assignments. Tasks, grammar, language practice, refinement of vocabulary, and sociolinguestic aspects of language acquisition are presented, discussed, and applied in hands-on activities and lesson writing by participants.
3. Program and Evaluation
SLTC provides evaluation of foreign language
programs and recommendations for program improvement.
